Mobile device statistics suggest time is right for mobile documentation

This morning I'm sitting at my car dealership's service department (pesky check engine light!) and something occurred to me as I was checking in with the technician - 10 years ago this guy would not be typing away on a keyboard and computer.  Over time, many industries have adopted technology that don't historically employ "techie" people.  Yet, in order to survive and provide a level of service that people expect this day and age, there really wasn't a choice.  And over time, my service guy Ed has gone from a pad of paper and pen to his computer as he pecks away at the keyboard with both pointer fingers.  And it's become second nature.  It's inevitable and neccessary.  In the year 2013, mobile documentation for service notes has never been more accessible.  Whether it be a smartphone, tablet or laptop/netbook, more and more Americans are purchasing and using these devices to access the internet remotely.  As a provider agency, this means your staff might be more technically inclined than you think.  The numbers don't lie.  Let's take a closer look at each category.
