Raising Awareness for Mental Health Month This May

Posted by Linda Nakagawa on Wed, May 17, 2017 @ 02:41 PM

Each May, we observe Mental Health Month in the United States. Observance of this month began in 1949 to educate people that mental illnesses were as real as other physical illnesses and show how they could be treated effectively.

The best treatments for serious mental illnesses today are highly effective; between 70 and 90% of individuals have significant reduction of symptoms and improved quality of life with the right treatments and supports.
